Supervision

“The support, information, solution based and discussions I have gained many teaching strategies, confidence and a positive mindset to support the children in our care. It is a breath of fresh air and great for our personal self-care.”

Individual & Team Supervision

Shiri offers monthly supervision for individuals and teams. This is an opportunity to stop, reflect and discuss approaches, experiences and feelings. Shiri’s supervision sessions allow professionals and teams to continually optimise their services and respond to the unexpected. Importantly, they also provide space for processing vicarious trauma, fostering worker well-being and professional development.

The foundation of Shiri’s supervision is a space of non-judgement, curiosity, presence and nurturing. Her aim is for clients to feel healed and refreshed, whilst also improving and developing new skills.

Supervisions are custom designed according to the particular requirements of the individual or team. For example, sessions with a teacher or caseworker might include exploring challenging experiences, personal well-being and developing new skills. With teams the focus might be on achieving organisational goals, team dynamics and professional development.

“The benefits for the children at the centre include a great attachment to their key educator children and a deeper understanding of the additional of their needs by educators. This has been evident in our weekly creative art group and how different children engage with the materials to becomes more and more confident through these experiences.”

“During group supervision, it is great to listen to all educator’s feelings, ideas, suggestions, what concerns they have had, incidents with children etc. It is a great opportunity to listen and discuss, work through problems and find solutions and understandings around our everyday routines with these vulnerable children. I believe this space is a crucial time for some grounding and conformation that we are not alone, and everyone is here to support us. At my old centre we did not have anything like thisand it is amazing to see the benefits for all involved -educators and children as well as partnerships with families and the wider community.”
